Two Bushels and a Peck - Jack Benny, George Burns, Gregory Peck
Переглядів 42 тис.12 років тому
That great vaudeville trio of Jack Benny, George Burns, and Gregory Peck perform their act under the name of Two Bushels and a Peck. From Jack's 1969 television special called Jack Benny's New Look. If this seems familiar, you may have seen Jack and George perform a similar routine with Bing Crosby or Jimmy Stewart under the name of Goldie, Fields, and Glide. It's hysterical every time.

Groucho Marx shows up for a few seconds in the Bing Crosby movie Mr. Music (1950). He tries to talk to Bing, but he's a little distracted. A bit later in the picture Bing and Groucho do a number called "Life Is So Peculiar," which can be found elsewhere on youtube. Like here: ua-cam.com/video/SMCV8hgnE2Y/v-deo.html :)

Next we're shown the Boswell Sisters (not new talent, but old favorites). They perform "Heebie Jeebies" by way of the film The Big...

Hollywood on Parade was a series of short subjects produced by Paramount Pictures between 1932 and 1934. They showcased the studio's stars both in newsreel-type footage (glimpses of Hollywood figures at premieres, parties, the races, etc.) and in new material such as sketches or musical numbers. The print quality of these isn't the greatest, but nevertheless there's some interesting stuff here....

Those contestants didn't stand a chance with his quick wit. lol. They were camera shy, except the woman who had several jobs that she never got around to saying. She was a great match for his innuendos.

Even legends like Edward G. Robinson, Bogey and James Cagney were human.

You can see how difficult it is to actually make these movies. They had to shoot from opposite angles and repeat the dialogue over and over to get the look of the movie right.

I always loved drive-in theaters. The were the best places to take girls on dates when I was in high school and college. They were dark and fairly private, the perfect places for smooching. It wasn't until after I graduated college that I was shocked to discover that they actually showed movies.
